Welcome to Ponderosa Patchworks,

Me and my Gammill Classic, before the digitized retrofit |
I've been quilting for four decades in one form or another. A love for quilting became the guideline in my decision toward quilting as a profession, realizing a desk job didn't feed my boundless creative energy. Then, after becoming an empty-nester, I really started to wonder what I was going to do with all that time and energy. One weekend at a wedding reception I saw the bride's quilt beautifully stitched in a way I'd never seen - so I asked. The answer added a thrilling new word to my quilting vocabulary: "My longarmer did it".
Within a few months, and in the fall of 2005, I tried out a few longarm machines at a quilt show. The Gammill fit. My new career goal was to offer a wide range of quilting techniques to my clients. I attended classes at Machine Quilters Showcase in Overland Park, Kansas for three consecutive summers to include custom quilting, edge-to-edge, maintenance issues and other trouble-shooting tips.

After seven years of mastering free-motion techniques, I retrofitted my Gammill to a Statler computerized system. And now, having been trained in free-motion and computerized quilting, I can offer either technique to my clients, meeting my career goal.
Aren't so many choices confusing? 'Choices', to me, mean design options. I'm here to help make the design process pleasant and streamlined. I give options, but it's entirely up to the client since it's their project. I respect that.
In addition to professional quilting, I’ve been an award-winner in a few venues, and have quilted for The Quilt Show (https://thequiltshow.com/learn/bom/bom-2016) and Connecting Threads as well as for local community-outreach charities. I was interviewed by Alex Anderson of TQS on the quilting of their 2016 BOM "Rajah Revisited" recently. Have fun watching it, below!
